  • 17th C Louis XIV Hand Carved Stone Chateau Fireplace Mantle surround Los Angeles

17th C Louis XIV Hand Carved Stone Chateau Fireplace Mantle surround Los Angeles . Very rare 17th century Louis XIV carved stone fireplace from a Chateau in Bourgogne "Burgundy" the wine country. The beautiful delicate carving of grapes leaves and basket and bunches of flower is very telling to where the artist's inspiration came from in the making of this breathtaking masterpiece of a fireplace.

During the Period of king Louis XIV, The design and decore was grandiose and monumental. Burgundy is one of France's main wine producing areas. It is well known for both its red and white wines, mostly made from Pinot noir and Chardonnay grapes, respectively, although other grape varieties can be found, including Gamay, Aligote, Pinot blanc, and Sauvignon blanc. The region is divided into the Côte-d'Or, where the most expensive and prized Burgundies are found, and Beaujolais, Chablis, the Côte Chalonnaise and Mâcon.

Without heaviness, the style seeks symmetry and perfection. Artists of this period also knew how to create new decorative motifs, new canons of beauty and new architectural rules.

Under the reign of the Sun King, in the middle of the 17th century, the general profile of the hood became trumeau gradually changes. There is now more depth in front of the shelf and the gradual disappearance of the first ledge generates a more significant height of the trumeau.

This fireplace will be the perfect focal point for any room, living room, bedroom, library, dining room in a country house or a city home. Antique Dealer West Hollywood Melrose Ave La Cienega Blvd. The depth could be adjusted when installed, since we pull the fireplace, mostly without cutting the extra stone pieces that were partially in the wall.

The simplicity of the carved line and the symmetry, makes this fireplace versatile in any design, even in a modern space, a Provincial design, an Italian design, or even a Spanish style house. This fireplace mantel (fireplace) with trumeau is even more beautiful in person.

The mantel (fireplace) is simple with a a carved basket in the center and the Beautiful lines on the trumeau makes this cheminée even more stately.

Excellent quality of art work from that period. Even you have low ceilings, 9 or 10 feet, this fireplace will still look amazing.
