we have seen our fair share of incredible furniture of the
15th to 19th Century periods. this table Desk is incredibly well preserved for
its age and use . the fitting work and the design i have rarely encountered any
at that level of sophistication and craftsmanship . the result that could only
be achieved by big Masters comparable to what was done for the Grande Commande .
this type of furniture at that level are mostly kept with the old families,

The unique period of early 1800’s of King Charles X is easily recognized by its fine marquetry of
light lemon wood The decoration forms motifs of very fine foliage , windings ,
nets of fretwork frames, rosettes and stylized palmettes . Goddesses putties
and multiple tableaux all around this desk table. Topped with an even more
beautiful Carved Stone ONYX Translucent light honey Gold and Green hue .
During King Charles X Light colored woods , yellow or
bleached , such as lemon tree , maple , sycamore, orange tree , plane wood and
the delicate gnarl of elm, of ash or Ambon wood were dominant. Marquetry was
minimal : inlays of amaranth , de holly or rosewood , dark woods that contrast
with the lighter hues. This versatile piece of history will be a fine desk for
