Castillo . Emilia descends from a fine family tree of renowned Taxco metal
artisans and jewelers . Pitcher flanked
by a handle in the form of a perched parrot inlaid with Hardstone probably
malachite along the body with a gilt beak.
Emilia Castillo, a second generation designer , born in
Taxco, Mexico, where she grew up surrounded by an exotic environment filled
with beautiful plants and animals, each piece she creates is an inspiration of
her surroundings and a playful mixture of metals and natural elements such as ,
lapis lazuli , jasper, turquoise , malachite , onyx and alabaster. Handmade
piece , beautiful as it is functional and meant to be used. Mexican, 20th
Century Marked to underside. TO-85 . General marks few scratches rubbing , wear
over the years as seen in the pictures. Overall a very good preserved
condition.
