Baluster lidded vase with cover, having Foo dogs on the lid decorated with what
looks like Gold stars and patterns. Intricately hand-painted floral panels
pattern and surrounds of wisteria and chrysanthemums Red orange , blue green
white and black and gold.
The central image on the body of the vase is of flowers
overflowing a Carriage with charactering a detailed cartouches of flying star
studded dragons. Imari pieces are known for their colorful and densely
decorated designs of vibrant rusty orange-red, blue and gold on white ground Export
of these wares halted in the late 18th century, but experienced resurgence in
the late 19th century in European decor.
