Bowling Balls from the late 19th C : #Some of the bowls have **E.J.Riley LTD**
two men it was E.J. and
Mr. Kenyon During the 1890’s the two men formed a limited company.
The later produced balls in the mid 20th Century , 1949 ,
were colored (see attached)
And the regular one without color had a different stamp on
them “ E.J Riley Accrington”
Another Aspect to point out, the hand carving on each of the
bowls with the extensive ring mirroring
And the depth of the carving as well, reflect more of the
19th C. rather than the later 20th Century produced
Items.
Bowls of Late 18th Early 19th Century: it has been
documented that 1796 was the founding date of Thomas Taylor Bowls Ltd. of
Glasgow, Scotland where many of the balls were first made. Some of the Bowls
have the Thomas Taylor Glasgow Stamp with the Bone or ivory Heads, Carved and
Mirrored as well.
