    18th C Spanish Talavera De La Reina Pitcher Jar Bucaro Botijo Centerpiece Rustic . A large late 18th-early 19th century glazed ceramic pitcher jar made in Talavera de la Reina , Spain  known for its ceramic tradition since the Roman times. Also called " búcaro " or botijo. these pitchers were made especially for holding water, or holy water. Most often they were made for the important homes or were located in convents and monasteries , and they would feature crests or coats-of-arms associated with various religious orders , such as this piece. The heraldic cross with Angels the virgin and stars the Discalced Carmelites or Barefoot Carmelites , a Catholic religious order founded in 1562 . or probably another order. Faience , natural clays and enamels , always conserving the traditional method dating back to the 16th century . Not to confuse this beautiful piece with The nice handmade pieces by the artisans from pueblo Mexico . This pitcher is the Talavera de la reyna of Spain.   • 18th Century Delft Pottery Blue and White Vase / Jar

    A very fine 18th century Dutch Delft Blue and White pottery vase or jar. Of typical vasiform shape with medium and deep blue Chinoiserie landscape decoration, decorated border to the top rim, and Mirrored Circles at the base . Hand painted in shades of cobalt blue with a continuous scene of flowers, leaves . A Very nice decorative element in a farm house or even in a traditional design

    Place these vase in a room with other colors , in a formal dining  in a library or living room side table , on a kitchen counter Dimensions . Much of the finest Delft were produced in the Dutch city of Delft. The Delft potters began to coat their pots completely in white tin glaze. They then began to cover the white tin-glaze with clear glaze, which gave depth to the fired surface and smoothness to cobalt blues. Over time they created a good resemblance to porcelain. By circa 1650 the technical skills of the potters and painters were much improved, and Delft began its golden age.

They were not painted to allow perspiration but sometimes they had a  simple design pattern in blue green gray and milky white with traces of orange peel color. This decorative item will decorate A console or as a bibelot in a library , on a side table in a living room  , even as a decorative object on a kitchen counter as a fruit bowl or a vase for sunflowers , in a rustic farm or traditional setting.
